Casalis at Clerkenwell Design Week
22- 24 May, 2018

Contemporary interior textile producer Casalis will present their Architextiles collection, during the Clerkenwell Design Week, from the 22nd to the 24th of May. The signature collection of 3D woven, acoustic panels, will feature ONDO, the latest addition to the Architextiles’ series.

Under the art direction of Anita Kars, the exhibition will showcase the various aesthetic, commercial and technical applications of the Architextiles range, exhibiting the versatility of the collection as sliding and suspended panels. Also applicable as full wall panels, in colour and shape combinations as a patchwork, room dividers and suspended room dividers, together with their sound absorbent qualities, and the possibility to integrate power sockets and screens, makes the panels excellent for use in public spaces such as offices, airports, and restaurants. The Architextiles are fully customisable and have been installed in many architectural projects worldwide including the Amazon headquarters of Milan and Paris, Liberty fashion store in London, the offices of American Express in Hong Kong, and Schiphol airport in the Netherlands, to name a few.

Designed by renowned textile designer Aleksandra Gaca and manufactured by Casalis, the Architextile collection was developed through an innovative combination of both craft and high tech elements, in a seamless process to create the panels. The textile panels, produced using sustainable materials, deliver two core features: decoration and noise reduction; the 3D texture of the woven fabric enables the panels to absorb sound waves more efficiently than flat textiles. Technical information and the results of acoustic analysis will be available at the stand to scientifically explain how, and to what extent, the Architextiles are able to improve the acoustic quality of any space in which they are placed.

ONDO is the third addition to the Architextiles series and joins previous collections Cello and Slumber. Ondo is produced using Travira CS polyester, and features new 3D woven, geometric structures and dramatic contrasts in colour and finish to provide a visual and tactile experience.
